I'll always remember a story about an engineering job candidate with exceptional qualifications who faced a tremendous challenge in the most important interview of their life.

 

The months-long search had finally ended for the recruiter.
The
best candidate sat before them: polite, professional, concise - a perfect fit. However, this candidate could not help but pause the interview repeatedly to retie their shoes, a behavior that clearly didn't align with the expected professionalism.

 

The interviewer perceived their behavior as questionable and rude. Little did they know, the candidate was autistic and
simply needed their shoes tightened to a very specific degree to
